The wills of
Calvert County residents during the late 19th and early 20th centuries are
an excellent source for local history and genealogical research and often
provide information lost with the 1890 federal census records.
Cursive handwriting and wording used during this period is often difficult
to decipher. In support of the Calvert County Historical Society, members of
the John Hanson Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American
Revolution (NSDAR) transcribed the handwritten wills to make them easier to read.
To view or print the NSDAR Index of transcribed wills for Calvert County
	(MD), click here .
The Index includes the Maryland Register of Wills Estate number, the year of
the Will and the date of filing, etc.

Scanned copies of the original wills can be found on the Family Search
website (FamilySearch.org).  The original Will Book is in the office of the
Register of Wills at the Calvert County Courthouse in Prince Frederick,
	Maryland.
