Below is an example page of
what a chain of title looks like.
The following is a breakdown of the top abstract from the chain of title for
4025 4th Street, as shown above. A digital copy of each deed can be found by
using the
Maryland land records website . These chains of title do not include all
available information on a property, but merely information that was found in
the official deed books for Calvert County.
1977, February 19
• This
is the date that the transaction was made. This may be different than when the
deed was entered into the official county deed book.
JLB 210/6
• This
is the deed book reference.
• The first three letters are the Clerk of the
Circuit Court’s initials. These initials are followed by the Liber (book) and
Folio (page) numbers.

• The entity that is buying the property
